Our History
Spray drying has been the key technology since 1944 when the Industria site was established. Over the years the company has focussed its strengths and expertise using spray drying technology to satisfy a growing market for locally produced food ingredients.
The technology has continued to advance and hence the knowledge base grows and affirms Sunspray as the largest independent spray drying company with the expertise and ability to develop superior customised solutions.
The Coronavirus pandemic has further highlighted the supply chain issues globally and the need for localisation of food ingredients.
Sunspray is constantly investing in technology to produce superior ingredients to match imported products and to spray dry products that previously were not feasible to dry using new spray drying technology.
This technology is a first in South Africa and will be at the forefront for new innovations in product development for the food and flavour industry.
