Nutritional Foods changes name to Sunspray Food Ingredients

Sunspray Food Ingredients, formerly part of Nutritional Foods, is proud to announce the start of a new era.

Nutritional Foods has restructured to focus on its core business of spray-drying. The restructure involves the sale of the Klerksdorp factory, where the company makes nutritional products for feeding schemes and catering. Appropriately the name Nutritional Foods will remain with the catering business, whilst the food ingredients division will adopt the name Sunspray Food Ingredients(Pty) Ltd.

“We have been innovators in spray-drying for more than fifty years,” says René Cross, marketing manager at Sunspray Food Ingredients. “Now we are refocusing our knowledge and expertise to provide the high quality food ingredients for which we are so well known.”

Sunspray Foods Ingredients’ vision is to be the country’s preferred supplier of spray-dried products and food ingredients.

“We are the largest, diverse food ingredient’s spray-drying company in South Africa and provide for all spray-drying needs. We pride ourselves on high quality service, technical expertise, choice food ingredients and a passion for excellence,” Cross says. “Our commitment explains why we have such an impressive list of clients, which includes DD Williamson, IFF and Firmenich as far as toll spray-drying is concerned and Glaxo Smith Kline, Cadbury’s, Bromor, NBL and Ciro for contract manufacturing and packing.”

Sunspray Food Ingredients’ product range includes fruit powders, cheese powders, fat powders, caramel, creamers, tomato powders, milk blends, meat flavours and egg products.

“We also serve the retail sector,” Cross adds, “and while this is a smaller part of our focus, it nevertheless contributes significantly to Sunspray Food Ingredients’ overall portfolio. Our retail brands include Country Pasture Blend, Bravo Gravy Powder and Housewives Cheese. Sunspray Food Ingredients also manufactures a number of house-brand products for some of the leading chain stores.”

The Sunspray Food Ingredients brand has a new logotype to emphasise its values. The logotype includes the Sunspray Food Ingredients name with an image to express innovation and dedication to the customer.
